Sierra and Shae’s Story:
“I wanted to share some personal details about our wedding day. Not only was it special because two became one, but it felt like we had finally made it to the finish line…” Sierra says.
Shae proposed to Siera in November & was diagnosed with stage three metastatic Choriocarcinoma in May. “We received this diagnosis after booking a wedding venue, putting down a deposit, sending out our Save The Dates, & going wedding dress shopping, but none of those things were a priority anymore…”
Sierra fastened her belts & was “10 toes down, supporting my soon to be Husband & making sure he was getting the best care possible.”
Their time went from planning a wedding, to learning about what this diagnosis entailed, side effects, medication options, doctor/care preferences, holistic regiments, what to eat & drink, researching what the right questions were & all the things in between. They put a stop to all of their planning and have up what they thought was their dream wedding.
“So naturally, our wedding was a thought of the past but then we met a real life Angel, Caleigh. She is a Wedding Planner, and was OUR Wedding Planner.”
From Caleigh: I had seen Shae's story posted on a Facebook page for a the local Goodyear Firefighter Charity. I read through the GoFundMe page, and saw the word “fiancee” in the post. I saw that they were recently engaged, and I gave my information to be passed along if they needed any assistance. My family is full of Public Service workers. My dad, mom, both older brothers, and two uncles all are current or retired cops and firefighters. So, seeing that Shae and Sierra were in that industry propelled me to offer any help they needed. I had talked to Sierra around September, and we reconnected in December to get the ball rolling on their wedding plans!
“I swear this felt like something out of a movie…”
“Caleigh, thank you doesn't even cut it. You made all of my wedding dreams come true. You came into our lives at such a scary time & gave us just enough distraction & excitement. She shared our story with our vendors & found our wedding venue, our food vendor, my hair & makeup (I must say her vendor list is top tier). She MADE my bouquet, ordered my flowers, BUILT THE CENTERPIECES and AISLE FLORAL, helped me pick out colors & linens. To top it off, SHE DROVE ME TO THE CEREMONY…”
“The whole wedding process was so smooth & so easy & I kept saying to myself "this just feels right!" There were times throughout the night of our wedding I would look back and see her holding up the train of my dress for me (I'm crying). Caleigh never asked for anything, she never expected anything, and I am so thankful to everyone who helped us have the wedding of our dreams. It was something we thought of as unattainable until it happened. Be the good in the world. Be like Caleigh.”
